Disclaimer / full disclosure for this! I was given two early production v2 units for testing & feedback, and one newer fully finished model for helping filmshoot stuff. I’ve only purchased one v2 myself. so, four total! With that said, there’s some bias here having some involvement in the project. To any who have purchased a v1 back in the day: These new ones are insanely good, worlds better; it’s a little absurd. The new three-button layout makes sense now that we’ve got RGB! The enclosure is sleek and pretty sturdy- though has the possibility of cracking open at the seam into its two distinct 3D printed pieces and spilling its (still individually sturdy) pcb&battery guts out. (Unsure if this has improved by now. If not, rubberband/superglue it shut!) It’s good to hear they’ve fixed buttons breaking off into the unit in early versions too. Thanks guys! – bloody BRIGHT. Significantly compared to before, and now without the very limiting directionality V1s had. Vewy beautiful. Impressively reactive in both response time and picking out frequency range. (I can’t whistle well so lighting up & articulating the upper half in micMode with my voice alone is a struggle) – Syncing works between various firmwares. It’s miraculous to me they’ve managed this. – 3M command strip mounting hardware works wonders, looks really nice along edges of walls/celings :0 Recommendations wanted as a nerd lighting tech who possesses four: • Remote shut down! If you have multiple units paired and running, each has to be extinguished one by one. • wireless DMX control? (perhaps much further down the line.) I’m a lighting tech so this concept is super exciting. Ultimately it’s been really cool to see this project develop over time. It’s awesome to see they’re still adding features continuously I’ve still yet to catch up with! These freaks do great work in a previously untapped rgb noodle market. Consider throwing your cash at them!
